VIRGINIA — An 88-year-old man has died after being struck by a county vehicle in Henrico County, according to police.
The crash occurred Monday, April 20, on West Broad Street near Coppermill Trace. Authorities said a Henrico County employee was driving a county vehicle eastbound when it struck the pedestrian, identified as Dominic Lisanti of Henrico.
Lisanti was in the roadway just east of the intersection at the time of the crash, investigators said. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and died the following day, Tuesday, April 21.
Police said neither speed nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, authorities said.
