LOUISIANA — The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death late Tuesday night in Grand Isle.
Deputies said they were called around 11:20 p.m. on April 21 to the 3100 block of Louisiana Highway 1 in reference to a parked vehicle and reports of a shooting in the area.
When deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. Officials said the name will be made public following an autopsy and after family members are notified.
No additional details about a possible suspect or what led up to the shooting have been released.
The Grand Isle Police Department is assisting the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office with the ongoing investigation.
