WISCONSIN — A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a motorcycle pursuit that ended in a crash and the discovery of a large amount of cocaine, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident began around 2:30 p.m. when a deputy spotted a motorcycle speeding on Jackson Road in the town of Hansen. The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled.
Investigators said the motorcycle attempted to navigate multiple curves before the driver lost control. The bike overturned on Spruce Road near Tamarack Road.
The driver, identified as Wyatt Landphier, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was taken into custody at the scene.
Officials said deputies located a large quantity of a white powdery substance on the motorcycle. The substance later tested positive for cocaine and weighed nearly 112 grams.
Landphier was booked into the Wood County Jail on drug-related charges.
The incident remains under investigation.
