OHIO — Police have arrested a man accused in a reported robbery on the city’s North Side, according to authorities.
Reports said one of three men involved in taking a gun and a satchel from another man Tuesday evening has been booked into the Mahoning County Jail.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Keanu Shelton, was arraigned Wednesday in municipal court on a first-degree felony charge of aggravated robbery. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.
According to police, officers were called around 6:35 p.m. to Hammaker Street after a man reported being robbed of his satchel, which contained paperwork and a .40-caliber handgun.
The victim told police he knew Shelton and provided a description of the vehicle he was driving. Authorities said they were able to trace the vehicle to a home on Alameda Avenue, where Shelton was taken into custody.
Police said there has been no word on the other two suspects involved.
The case remains under investigation.
