
ARKANSAS — A man was killed and a woman injured in a head-on crash Monday afternoon in Baxter County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The collision occurred at approximately 2:03 p.m. on State Highway 101 near Gamaliel.
Authorities said Zackery Johnston, 39, of Gamaliel, was traveling southbound in a 1999 Isuzu when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound 2019 Jeep. The Jeep was driven by Emily Noblin, 44, of West Plains.
Johnston was pronounced dead at the scene. Noblin was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not specified.
According to a preliminary report from state police, weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
