SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people were killed in a head-on crash early Sunday morning along Interstate 26 in the Columbia area, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. near the 107.5 mile marker on I-26, in the Bush River Road area.
Authorities said a 2023 Hyundai sedan was traveling east in the westbound lanes of the interstate when it collided head-on with a 2018 Nissan SUV that was traveling west in the same lanes.
Both drivers were killed in the crash, officials said.
The identities of the victims have not been released as of Sunday morning.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
