FLORIDA — A 20-year-old Texas man was killed early Friday in a crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor on Interstate 295, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 12:24 a.m. near Main Street. Authorities said the motorcyclist, a resident of Roanoke, was traveling in the northbound right lane directly behind a tractor when he failed to observe the vehicle ahead and collided with the rear of it.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
The driver of the tractor, a 51-year-old man from Jacksonville, was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
