
OHIO — Two New Paris residents are in jail following a narcotics investigation into suspected drug trafficking, according to the Preble County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Matthew Jennings, 47, and Tonya Jo Barth, 54, were arrested after a search warrant was executed at a home on Shady Lane in New Paris.
Both face multiple charges, including aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs, trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officials said the search was part of an ongoing investigation in which detectives suspected drug trafficking activity at the residence. Investigators reported that methamphetamine and cocaine had been purchased from the suspects during the course of the investigation.
During the search, deputies said they recovered approximately 20 grams of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine, along with other items related to drug use.
Jennings and Barth were booked into the Preble County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
