
VIRGINIA — A 67-year-old man was pronounced dead after his body was recovered from a jetty at a Norfolk beach Wednesday morning, according to police.
Norfolk Police said officers responded around 7:30 a.m. to a report of a water rescue at the Beaumont Street public beach access.
When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive person on the jetty. With assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard and Norfolk Fire-Rescue, crews recovered the man’s body around 7:40 a.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity.
No additional details were immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
