SOUTH CAROLINA — A deadly shooting in Pageland has left one person dead and led to multiple arrests following an altercation outside a McDonald’s, according to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 7:45 a.m. Monday, April 13, to a shooting off Nicholson Lane. When they arrived, they found 23-year-old Daniel Omarion Carter, of Pageland, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Investigators identified 27-year-old Reggie Martavious Ivey, originally from Monroe, as a suspect. Authorities said Ivey fled the scene in a vehicle but was later located by Monroe Police using license plate reader technology.

He was arrested around noon at the Icemorlee Apartment Complex and charged with murder. He is being held without bond at the Union County Detention Center and is awaiting extradition. Additional charges may be filed.

Officials said the shooting may be connected to a fight that occurred April 11 in the parking lot of a McDonald’s in Pageland. Video of the incident circulated on social media and showed a man allegedly carrying what appeared to be an AR-15-style rifle concealed in his pants while making threats, according to authorities.

Pageland Police identified several individuals involved in that altercation. Six people were arrested in connection with the fight: Zytaivion N. Fair, 19, of Pageland; Wanda L. Miles, 41, of Pageland; Kevon Joines, 23, of Jefferson; Gabriel S. Walker, 24, of Pageland; Shania L. Little, 23, of Pageland; and Aniyah Blake of Monroe, who turned herself in.

Authorities are still searching for Shakarah Saunders of Monroe in connection with the fight.

Officials have not confirmed whether those arrested in the fight are connected to the fatal shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
