ILLINOIS — A 26-year-old man was killed in a shooting late Monday night in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, according to police.
The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 7400 block of South Morgan Street. Officers responding to the scene found the man with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s identity.
Police have not provided information on possible suspects or what led to the shooting. Area One detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
