NORTH CAROLINA — Two people were arrested following a high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle that ended near the Wake-Franklin county line, according to authorities.

Louisburg police said officers attempted to stop a white Infiniti and an orange Dodge Challenger for speeding on Bickett Boulevard early Monday morning. The Infiniti stopped, but the driver of the Challenger fled, leading officers on a pursuit.

The chase ended on U.S. Highway 401 near the Wake-Franklin county line, where officers conducted a search of the area before taking both the driver and passenger into custody.

Authorities said the Dodge Challenger had been reported stolen from a home in Vance County.

The driver, identified as Montez Baker, 21, of Raleigh, faces multiple charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, speeding to elude, reckless driving, resisting, delaying and obstructing officers, driving without a license, speeding and failure to maintain lane control.

The passenger, Davion Rogers, 19, of Clayton, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting, delaying and obstructing officers.

Both suspects are being held without bond in the Franklin County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
