
TENNESSEE — A man died following a tractor crash in Hancock County Sunday afternoon, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 4:09 p.m. on Sherm Mountain Road. Steven Dorland, 69, was backing up a 1946 International Super M farm tractor when it got too close to the edge of an embankment.
The tractor slid off the side of the road, overturned and struck a tree, according to a preliminary report.
Troopers said Dorland was thrown from the tractor and became pinned under one of its tires.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
