
FLORIDA — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon on U.S. Highway 1 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 2:16 p.m. at the intersection of US-1 and Chamberlan Terrace.
According to investigators, a Ford F-150 was stopped at a stop sign on Chamberlan Terrace and attempted to make a left turn onto US-1. At the same time, a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling southbound on US-1 in the inside lane approaching the intersection.
Witnesses told troopers the motorcycle was traveling above the posted speed limit. As the truck entered the roadway, it crossed into the motorcycle’s path, and the two vehicles collided.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
