ARIZONA — A bicyclist in his 70s has died after a crash in Gilbert, according to the Gilbert Police Department.
Officers responded around 11 a.m. to a collision involving a bicyclist near the intersection of Val Vista Drive and Hearne Way.
Investigators said the bicyclist entered the intersection on a red light and was struck by a vehicle.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries but was later pronounced dead.
Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The identity of the bicyclist has not yet been released. The crash remains under investigation.
