LOUISIANA — Police are investigating a homicide after a 65-year-old man was found dead inside a hotel room Thursday evening in Shreveport.
According to the Shreveport Police Department, officers were dispatched just after 7 p.m. to the 4900 block of Greenwood Road in reference to a report of a deceased person.
When officers arrived, they located the man inside a hotel room.
Investigators determined the victim had suffered multiple facial injuries consistent with an apparent assault and battery. Authorities have classified the case as a homicide.
Detectives are actively working to identify and locate a suspect.
This marks the seventh homicide reported in the city of Shreveport so far this year, according to police.
