Two people arrested after selling fentanyl with child present in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Two people were arrested in Lee County on Thursday after deputies said they were involved in selling fentanyl while a child was present.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation found that 32-year-old Felipe Jaimes Jr. and 39-year-old Leemary Davila Rosado were working together to sell and deliver fentanyl in the county.

Authorities said the pair had their child with them during drug transactions.

Jaimes and Rosado are each charged with four counts of trafficking fentanyl, three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver fentanyl, three counts of exposing a child to a controlled substance, two counts of felony conspiracy and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

During their initial court appearances, both suspects were given bonds set at $2 million each.

The case remains under investigation.
