TENNESSEE — A suspect is in custody after an overnight standoff in Knox County during which deputies came under gunfire, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident began just after midnight Friday on Roberts Road when deputies responded to a reported domestic situation.
According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect began shooting at deputies upon their arrival. A standoff ensued that lasted several hours.
Officials said the suspect was taken into custody around 4 a.m. No injuries were reported.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has not released the suspect’s name or any charges at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
