LOUISIANA — A multi-parish pursuit ended in a deadly shooting Wednesday afternoon in LaSalle Parish, according to authorities.
Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Force Investigation Unit said the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on April 8 along Louisiana Highway 28 near Dewey Wills Wildlife Management Area Road.
Officials reported that the shooting followed a pursuit involving troopers and multiple law enforcement agencies across several parishes.
Authorities said one person was pronounced dead as a result of the incident. No law enforcement personnel were injured.
The Force Investigation Unit was requested to investigate the shooting, and detectives are currently working to process the scene, gather additional information and determine all agencies involved in the pursuit and subsequent shooting.
Officials are asking anyone with information, photos or video related to the incident to contact the Louisiana State Police or submit tips anonymously through the agency’s online reporting system.
The investigation remains ongoing.
