The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 12:27 p.m. on U.S. Route 23 in Scioto Township.
Investigators reported that a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 76-year-old Dave Boggs of Waverly, was traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 2008 Chevrolet Uplander.
The second vehicle was driven by 39-year-old Jason Day of Chillicothe.
Authorities said both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. No passengers were in either vehicle.
