
TEXAS — More than 9,000 homes and businesses are without electricity across Texas as of Wednesday morning, according to outage tracking data.
Officials reported approximately 9,196 customers without power statewide, representing about 0.06% of more than 15.6 million customers being tracked. Texas currently has the highest number of outages in the country, though the overall percentage of customers affected remains relatively low.
The largest number of outages was reported in Harris County, where more than 3,300 customers were without power. Other counties with notable outages included Kendall County with over 1,000 outages, as well as Dallas County, Smith County and Llano County.
Among utility providers, CenterPoint Energy reported the highest number of outages, with more than 4,000 customers affected. Other providers, including Oncor and Pedernales Electric Cooperative, also reported outages.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, and officials continue to monitor the situation.
