GEORGIA — Police in Union City say a baby who was initially reported as abandoned was actually dropped off at the wrong daycare and has since been reunited with family.
According to the Union City Police Department, officers issued an “abandoned child” alert Tuesday after a boy under the age of one was left at a daycare on Union Street around 7:24 a.m.
Authorities said a man dropped the child off in a white Toyota Corolla, but daycare workers did not recognize the baby, prompting concern and the alert.
Police later determined that a family member had intended to take the child to a different daycare location in nearby Fairburn.
Officials confirmed the baby has since been safely reunited with his family.
No charges have been announced, and the incident remains under review.
