MICHIGAN — Two men were arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Oakland County that led to the discovery of drugs, firearms and other suspected contraband, according to authorities.

The Michigan State Police said troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding in Groveland Township on April 6.

Authorities identified the driver as a 46-year-old man from Howell, who told troopers he did not have a valid driver’s license. A 42-year-old man from Warren was a passenger in the vehicle.

Investigators said the driver had an outstanding warrant for carrying a concealed weapon, while the passenger is a convicted felon currently on parole.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers reported finding a loaded 9mm pistol hidden beneath the center console, along with approximately 79 grams of individually packaged methamphetamine and an additional 22 grams in bulk form.

Authorities also said they recovered marijuana, two containers of unlabeled pills, multiple weapons described as dangerous stabbing instruments, four vials containing an unknown substance and a container of ammunition.

Officials said the passenger was lodged in the Oakland County Jail, while the driver was transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

The case remains under investigation pending review by the prosecutor’s office.
