MICHIGAN — A 21-year-old man from Grand Rapids was killed early Wednesday in a rollover crash in Ottawa County, according to authorities.
Deputies said the crash occurred around 7 a.m. near the intersection of Van Buren Street and 152nd Avenue.
Investigators reported the man was driving westbound but was traveling in the eastbound lane when he entered a section of roadway affected by construction. Officials said the westbound lane was closed, while the eastbound lane consisted of sand and gravel.
Authorities said the driver lost control of the vehicle after entering the sandy area. The vehicle rolled over, and the man was ejected from the vehicle through a window.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Central Dispatch Authority or Silent Observer.
