FLORIDA — Two people were arrested after a narcotics investigation led to the discovery of methamphetamine and other drugs at a home in Spring Hill, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the agency’s Vice and Narcotics Unit, along with SWAT, executed a search warrant Thursday at a residence on Coronado Drive following an undercover investigation involving multiple operations.
During the search, investigators reported finding approximately 96.6 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 grams of fentanyl and more than 140 grams of promethazine hydrochloride. Ammunition was also located inside the home, despite one of the suspects being a convicted felon.
Officials identified the primary suspect as 43-year-old Michael Joseph Lynch, who was taken into custody without incident. According to investigators, Lynch admitted the methamphetamine and ammunition belonged to him and stated he did not have a prescription for the promethazine.
A second suspect, 22-year-old Jada Evonne French, was also detained at the scene. Authorities said Lynch told investigators the fentanyl belonged to French for personal use.
Lynch faces multiple felony charges, including three counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a structure for trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a new legend drug without a prescription, unlawful use of a two-way communication device and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held without bond.
French was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on a $6,000 bond.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details may be released as they become available.
