Thousands without power in Michigan

MICHIGAN — Thousands of residents across Michigan are without electricity Tuesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, approximately 2,197 customers are without power statewide out of more than 5 million tracked, representing about 0.04% of customers.

The largest number of outages was reported in Alcona County, where 591 customers were without power, accounting for the highest percentage of customers affected at more than 4%. Alpena County reported 340 outages, while Clare County had 273 customers without electricity.

Additional outages were reported in Eaton County, Kent County, Genesee County, Presque Isle County and Mackinac County.

Among utility providers, Consumers Energy reported the highest number of outages, with more than 1,500 customers affected. Alpena Power Company also reported a higher percentage of customers impacted at just over 2%.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and customers are encouraged to check with their local utility providers for updates.
