Thousands without power in Florida

FLORIDA — Thousands of residents across Florida are without electricity Tuesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, approximately 4,233 customers are without power statewide out of more than 10.9 million tracked, representing about 0.04% of customers.

The largest number of outages was reported in Miami-Dade County, where 755 customers were without power. Gulf County reported 672 outages, while Clay County had 448 customers without electricity.

Additional outages were reported in Pinellas County, Citrus County, Sarasota County, Palm Beach County and Broward County.

Among utility providers, Florida Power & Light Company reported the highest number of outages, with nearly 2,000 customers affected. Duke Energy and Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative also reported notable outages, with Gulf Coast Electric showing the highest percentage of customers impacted at nearly 3%.

Officials have not released a specific cause for the outages. Restoration efforts are ongoing, and customers are encouraged to check with their local utility providers for updates.
