SOUTH CAROLINA — A bicyclist was killed Sunday night after being struck by a vehicle in Laurens County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened just after 9 p.m. on Charlotte’s Road near the intersection of Gary Street. A 2006 Audi sedan and the bicyclist were both traveling north when the vehicle struck the bicycle from behind.
Authorities said the Audi then traveled off the roadway and hit a tree.
The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene. The driver of the Audi was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
