SOUTH CAROLINA — A man is dead following a fatal stabbing late Saturday night in the Yemassee area of Hampton County, according to the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a home along Pocotaligo Road at approximately 11:04 p.m., where they discovered a man suffering from a stab wound to the neck. The victim, identified as 46-year-old Donnie Kinard of Varnville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said witness accounts indicate the stabbing stemmed from an altercation between individuals who were known to each other, which quickly escalated.
Authorities are working to identify and locate the individual involved. The South Carolina Law Enforcement DivisionCrime Scene Unit responded to assist in processing the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Officials said no additional details will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the case.
