LOUISIANA — Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection with a double homicide that left two women dead in St. Bernard Parish, according to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff James Pohlmann said deputies responded around 7:45 p.m. Sunday to a reported disturbance in the 2200 block of Centanni Drive.

When deputies arrived, they found two adult women suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a hospital, where they later died.

Authorities identified the suspect as 22-year-old Lee Collins III, who officials said is a family member of the victims.

Investigators said Collins fled the scene on foot and is believed to have stolen a white 2019 Ford stake-bed truck with Louisiana license plate Z258037.

Officials said Collins is wanted on two counts of second-degree murder.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active as deputies continue searching for the suspect.
