FLORIDA — A motorcyclist is dead following a crash early Monday morning on Florida’s Turnpike in Cutler Bay, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash was reported around 4:25 a.m. in the northbound lanes near Mile Marker 12.
According to investigators, a Suzuki motorcycle collided with a red Nissan sedan.
Troopers said the motorcyclist, identified only as an adult male, was ejected from the motorcycle and fell into the roadway.
Officials said the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities also reported that all northbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed in the area following the crash, with traffic being diverted onto Southwest 216th Street.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
