
GEORGIA — More than 2,000 customers are without electricity across Georgia as of Sunday evening, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
Officials reported 2,010 outages statewide, affecting about 0.04% of more than 5.3 million customers tracked.
The largest number of outages are reported in Muscogee County, where 818 customers were without power. Rabun County reported 419 outages, while Fulton County had 290.
Additional outages were reported in DeKalb County with 188 customers affected and Bibb County with 95. Smaller numbers were also reported in Hancock County, Cobb County and Richmond County.
Utility provider Georgia Power reported the majority of outages, with 1,546 customers affected. Other outages were reported by College Park Power, Washington EMC and Marietta Power.
Georgia ranked among the states with the highest outage totals nationwide Sunday evening. The cause of the outages was not immediately known, though recent storm activity may have contributed.
Utility crews are working to restore service.
