VIRGINIA — A tractor-trailer driver is dead following a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Henrico County, according to the Virginia State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 4:49 a.m. on April 5 along Interstate 295 near the Pocahontas Parkway exit.
A preliminary investigation indicates the tractor-trailer, which was transporting milk, was traveling north when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a disabled, unoccupied vehicle on the shoulder.
Officials said the truck continued forward, going through a guardrail and crashing into multiple trees.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the driver was pronounced dead there.
State police said the crash remains under investigation.
