OHIO — A woman from Springdale has been arrested after allegedly causing a crash while driving under the influence with children inside her vehicle, according to court documents.
Authorities said Marleni Veronica Cano Ruiz, 35, is accused of causing a crash Friday at the intersection of Southland Road and Ashburn Road in Forest Park while impaired.
According to court records, officers who responded to the scene found two juvenile children inside Ruiz’s vehicle. Investigators said Ruiz also reportedly admitted to drinking beer before getting behind the wheel.
As a result, Ruiz is facing charges of operating a vehicle while impaired and endangering children. Police also allege she did not have a valid license and ignored a stop sign prior to the crash.
Court documents did not indicate whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Ruiz was arraigned in court Saturday. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m.
The case remains ongoing.
