
SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people are dead following a head-on crash early Easter morning in Richland County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred just after 4 a.m. on Interstate 77 northbound near the 10-mile marker, close to the Fort Jackson Boulevard exit.
According to investigators, a 2023 Toyota SUV was traveling north when it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was traveling south in the northbound lanes.
Officials said the drivers of both vehicles died as a result of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
