VIRGINIA — A man was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning in Portsmouth, according to the Portsmouth Police Department.
Police said officers responded around 3:25 a.m. on April 5 to a reported shooting in the 2400 block of Chestnut Street.
When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medics transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not been released.
Authorities said the case remains an active investigation.
Officials have not released additional details at this time.
