NORTH CAROLINA — Multiple school districts across North Carolina will be closed during the week of April 6 through April 10, 2026, as spring break takes place in parts of the state.
Among those with confirmed full-week closures:
- Burke County Public Schools lists April 6–10 as spring break/vacation days, with no classes scheduled.
- Wilson County Schools also shows April 6–10 designated as annual leave and spring break, meaning students are out the entire week.
Additional districts have spring break periods that extend into that same week:
- Wilkes County Schools schedules spring break from April 3–10, resulting in no school for the full April 6–10 week.
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools lists April 7–10 as annual leave days during spring break, keeping students out for most of the week.
These closures reflect North Carolina’s district-by-district calendar system, where spring break timing varies widely. While many districts are in session that week, several systems—particularly in western and central parts of the state—will have students out of school for all or most of April 6–10.
