MARYLAND — Multiple school districts across Maryland will be closed at some point during the week of April 6 through April 10, 2026, as spring break schedules extend into that timeframe.

Among those with confirmed closures:

  • Baltimore County Public Schools is closed for spring break from April 2 through April 10, meaning students are out the entire week.
  • Frederick County Public Schools lists spring break from April 3 through April 10, also resulting in a full week of no classes.
  • Kent County Public Schools and Queen Anne’s County Public Schools both show spring break running April 3 through April 10, keeping students out all week.
  • Carroll County Public Schools has spring break extending through April 7, meaning closures at least at the start of the week.
  • Cecil County Public Schools lists spring break through April 8, resulting in closures for much of the week.
  • Talbot County Public Schools shows spring break from April 2 through April 8, covering several days during the week.

Additional districts have shorter extensions into the week:

  • Caroline, Washington, Wicomico, and Worcester counties all list spring break continuing through April 6, meaning schools are closed at least on Monday.
  • Prince George’s County Public Schools confirms schools closed on April 6 for spring break/Easter holiday.
  • Charles County Public Schools also lists April 6 as a closure tied to spring break/Easter holidays.

These closures reflect Maryland’s district-based calendar system, where spring break is staggered across different weeks. While many districts return to class after April 6, a number of systems—particularly in central and eastern Maryland—remain closed for part or all of the week.
