One person injured following road rage shooting incident in Georgia

GEORGIA — One person was injured in a road rage incident that turned violent in northeast Georgia, according to deputies.

Madison County deputies responded to the area of Highway 29 South at Kimberly Circle after receiving reports of gunfire linked to a dispute between drivers.

Authorities said shots were fired during the incident, leaving one person injured. The victim was transported to a hospital, but officials have not released their identity, age or condition.

All other individuals involved remained at the scene, according to law enforcement.

Officials said the incident appears to be isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Madison County Sheriff’s Office as the case remains under investigation.
