Thousands without power in Texas

TEXAS — More than 10,000 customers across Texas are without electricity as of Saturday afternoon, according to outage tracking data.

PowerOutage.us reports approximately 10,706 homes and businesses are currently without power statewide, representing about 0.07% of more than 15.6 million customers tracked.

The largest number of outages has been reported in Dallas County, where 1,598 customers are without power. Bowie County is reporting 1,012 outages, followed by Camp County with 684 and Smith County with 646.

Additional outages have been reported in Tarrant County with 613 customers affected, Franklin County with 598 outages, Harrison County with 451 and Clay County with 381.

Among utility providers, Oncor is reporting the largest number of impacted customers, with 4,433 outages. Southwestern Electric Power Company reports 1,769 outages, while Upshur Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation has 833 outages.

By percentage, Panola-Harrison Electric Cooperative is reporting the highest proportion of customers affected, with about 3.31% without power.

Officials note outage numbers can change as crews work to restore service and as new outages are reported.

Residents are encouraged to report outages to their local utility providers and avoid downed power lines.

Restoration efforts are ongoing across the state.
