PENNSYLVANIA — A single-engine plane made an emergency landing on an interstate in Lehigh County Saturday morning, according to authorities.
Officials said the aircraft landed just before 9:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 78 near mile marker 45 in Weisenberg Township.
Emergency alerts from the county indicated the plane landed safely on the roadway.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities said the incident led to the closure of the eastbound lanes of I-78 near the landing site, forcing drivers to seek alternate routes.
The cause of the emergency landing has not been released.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified, and an investigation is ongoing.
