VIRGINIA — One person was injured in a shooting Friday night in northwest Roanoke, according to police.
The Roanoke Police Department said officers responded to the 2700 block of Massachusetts Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the street with serious gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police said residents should expect a heavy law enforcement presence in the area as the investigation continues.
