INDIANA — Two people are dead, two others are injured and one person has been detained following a crash early Saturday morning on the city’s south side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded just before 3 a.m. April 4 to a two-vehicle crash in the 4900 block of South Sherman Drive, near East Thompson and Shelbyville roads.
Police said Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and pronounced two men inside one of the vehicles dead.
Authorities said two men in the second vehicle were transported to local hospitals. Officials described both as “awake and breathing.”
Police confirmed that at least one occupant involved in the crash has been detained for further investigation.
The Beech Grove Police Department is assisting with the investigation.
No additional details have been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
