SOUTH CAROLINA — An investigation is underway after a man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Anderson.
According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, the victim was identified as 28-year-old Jonathan Saxon of Anderson.
Officials said just before 4 a.m., Anderson County dispatch received a call about a crash on Highway 187 at Nautical Way.
When first responders arrived, Saxon was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s office said.
A preliminary investigation found that Saxon was driving on the highway when he ran off the road. Authorities said the vehicle overturned and he was ejected from the vehicle.
The coroner’s office said Saxon’s cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries, and his death was ruled accidental.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the crash.
