
NORTH CAROLINA — Police are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a man in Goldsboro.
According to the Goldsboro Police Department, Ernest Lee Martin died after being struck by a vehicle near the 800 block of U.S. 70 sometime between Thursday evening and early Friday morning.
Officers responded around 9:40 a.m. Friday to a report of an unresponsive person in the highway median. When first responders arrived, they determined the man appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.
“The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid or notify authorities,” police said.
Emergency crews attempted to provide aid to Martin, but he died from his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
