TEXAS — One person is dead and five others were injured following a T-bone collision near downtown Houston early Friday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Hutchins Street and Pierce Street and involved a Dodge Challenger and a Toyota Corolla.
Police said six people were transported to the hospital following the crash. Five of those individuals were inside the Corolla, including a male passenger who was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities said another person in the Corolla remains in critical condition, while the remaining occupants are being evaluated for injuries. All individuals involved are adults.
The driver of the Challenger was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to police.
Barrow said investigators have not yet determined who was at fault, and it remains unclear whether speed or impairment played a role in the crash.
Police said additional forensic analysis will be conducted on both vehicles as the investigation continues.
