
NORTH CAROLINA — Police in Durham are searching for two women believed to be connected to a theft and a suspicious death that occurred in late September.
According to the Durham Police Department, officers responded on Sept. 30, 2025, to a report on South Lasalle Street, where they found 34-year-old Mardin Varela Chirinos dead under suspicious circumstances.
During the course of the investigation, detectives identified two suspects: 34-year-old Cindy Julibeth Ulloa Martinez and 28-year-old Taly Maria Colman Trochez. Authorities say both women have been charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, and felony conspiracy.
Police have also identified the women as persons of interest in the ongoing death investigation. Officials have not said how the suspects were identified or what specific role they may have played in the incident.
Investigators are asking the public for help in locating the two women. Anyone who encounters them is advised to call 911.
