SOUTH CAROLINA — Two men have been arrested following a shooting at a short-term rental property in Richland County that left one person injured, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Leon Lott said deputies responded March 21 to a shooting on Gusty Lane in the Quail Pointe neighborhood near Hopkins after witnesses reported a man had been shot.
Investigators said Allen Garner Jr., 19, is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Mario Hooks, 19, is charged with kidnapping, attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Authorities said the shooting stemmed from ongoing disputes between the suspects and the victim.
Officials said members of the sheriff’s Fugitive Task Force and Special Response Team located both suspects at their homes in Richland County on Tuesday. They were taken into custody and booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where they are awaiting bond hearings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
