
OHIO — Two people were killed and another was seriously injured following a crash caused by a medical emergency Tuesday afternoon in Findlay, according to authorities.
Police said the crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. along North Blanchard Street when 30-year-old Devante McBeth of Fostoria experienced a sudden medical emergency while driving.
Investigators said the vehicle accelerated uncontrollably, leading to a crash involving a parked vehicle, a utility pole and a tree.
Authorities said 31-year-old Breanna Garvey, also of Fostoria and a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said 38-year-old Christopher Hook attempted to steer the vehicle to prevent the crash but was unsuccessful. He was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
McBeth also died as a result of the crash, according to reports.
Authorities said the crash remains under investigation as they work to determine all contributing factors.
