NORTH CAROLINA — Four people are facing charges after deputies say they stole multiple cases of beer from a convenience store in Davie County early Monday morning.

According to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 1:18 a.m. to a Sheetz store on Yadkinville Road in reference to a larceny in progress. Investigators said two men and a woman entered the store and stole 10 cases of Modelo beer valued at $279.56 before leaving in a van with a temporary license plate.

Deputies later located the vehicle traveling east on Interstate 40 and conducted a traffic stop.

Authorities identified the occupants as driver Michael Antoine Alston of Winston-Salem and passengers Dwight Lydell Littlejohn of Pfafftown, Joshua Wayne Martin of Lexington, and Joanna Rae Murphy of Winston-Salem.

All 10 cases of beer were recovered from the vehicle, officials said. Deputies also reported finding drug paraphernalia.

Littlejohn, Martin and Murphy were each charged with misdemeanor larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia. Littlejohn and Murphy were held without bond, while Martin was released on a $500 unsecured bond. All three are scheduled to appear in Davie District Court on April 23.

Alston was charged with misdemeanor aiding and abetting larceny and was released on citation. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 7.

The investigation remains ongoing.
